Careers: Installer / Field Technician
A hands-on role with room to grow
Red River Integration is a growing technology integration firm serving luxury residential and commercial clients across Southwest Oklahoma and North Texas. We’re looking for an Installer / Field Technician who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in clean installs, and wants to build real, marketable technical skills — not just punch a clock.
This role works closely with our core engineering and installation team, supporting the deployment of enterprise-grade networking, cameras, access control, audio, and related systems.
Location, Flexibility & Work Structure
This role is based in Southwest Oklahoma and North Texas.
This is a field-based position, not an in-office role
Installers will often travel directly from home to job sites
Daily schedules may vary based on project needs and locations
We operate with a high degree of trust and flexibility
Installers are expected to manage their time responsibly, communicate clearly, and take ownership of their workload
Reliable personal transportation is required, especially during the 1099 period
This role requires integrity, accountability, and self-direction. It is not a highly managed or micromanaged position.
How This Role Starts
This position begins as a 1099 contractor on a trial basis. This allows both sides to confirm the fit — technically, professionally, and culturally.
Our intent is to transition the right person into a full-time W-2 installer role, with a clear path toward Lead Installer / Trainer as the company grows.
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll work in the field alongside experienced installers and engineers. Most systems are pre-designed and pre-provisioned before arriving onsite — your focus is on execution and install quality.
Typical responsibilities include:
Running and terminating low-voltage cabling (Cat6, PoE, structured wiring)
Terminating pre-run rough-in wiring on new-construction projects from low-voltage subcontractors
Mounting cameras, access points, racks, doorbells, and related equipment
Installing pre-configured networking, audio, and access systems
Keeping job sites clean, organized, and professional
Following documented installation standards and best practices
Who This Is a Good Fit For
We’re looking for someone who:
Has at least a high school diploma
(technical school or some university coursework strongly preferred)Is naturally curious and genuinely interested in modern technology, systems, and how things work
Takes pride in their work and pays close attention to detail
Shows up on time and communicates clearly
Is comfortable using tools and learning new systems
Wants to grow technical skills and responsibility over time
Is professional and respectful on customer job sites
Is a self-starter who can work independently without constant supervision
Demonstrates honesty, reliability, and integrity in a flexible work environment
Owns basic hand tools
Has reliable transportation to job sites during the 1099 period
Can terminate Cat6 cable
(this skill will be tested on the spot during the interview)
Previous experience with low-voltage work, networking, AV, or access-control systems is helpful — but not required for the right candidate who is motivated and capable of learning.
Tools, Vehicles, and Equipment
During the 1099 trial period, installers are expected to use their own basic tools and transportation due to insurance requirements
Once transitioned to full-time W-2, advanced tools and a company vehicle may be provided based on role and responsibility
All system hardware is pre-provisioned prior to installs — this is not a configuration or help-desk role
Growth and Opportunity
This role is intentionally designed to grow with the company.
A typical progression:
Installer (1099 trial period)
Full-time W-2 Installer
Lead Installer / Trainer
We invest time and effort into people who take ownership of their work and want to build something long-term.
Work Environment
This is a field-based role working in a variety of environments, including:
Luxury residential homes
Commercial offices and retail spaces
Warehouses, outdoor areas, and non-traditional sites
The work is hands-on and sometimes physical — never corporate or bureaucratic.
Compensation
Compensation is competitive and based on experience and responsibility.
As skills, reliability, and leadership increase, compensation increases accordingly. Good work is recognized and rewarded.
